Protoplasting Nature
The leaves of Thaumatococcus daniellii – a plant widely used in Africa as a building material – make up the walls of the Protoplasting Nature Cabinet Bronze, while natural jute is used to compose the shelves. Enveloped with polished bronze applied through a bespoke thermo-coating process, the organic materials are solidified inside, leaving a mere memory of what was once pulsating with life. Inspired by Josef Frank’s ‘Flora Cabinet’ and paying tribute to a historical archetype, the piece is part of the Flora Contemporaria limited edition series.
