Process

In Glaes, specially processed flowers are encased in solid blocks of tinted resin, broadening our understanding of flower preservation and material research. Given the casting technique and the chemical reactions that occur, the sculptural monolithic forms highlight intentional cracks that appear when the resin touches the flowers, reflecting light rays and adding a poetic, amber-like feel to the material.

FAQ

Glaes incorporates real flowers, trapped in a solid block of tinted resin. The special resin casting technique results in internal cracks and bubbles that allow light to illuminate the botanical inclusions.
Of course. We can develop a bespoke piece in a custom shape, size, colour scheme and flower combination. Depending on the project, we can source specific, site-related plants so that the work becomes a herbarium — a time capsule that tells the story of a particular place, captured at a specific time.
Given the density of the material, the constraints relate to the final piece’s weight rather than size.
