DNA of Things is a conceptual sculpture made with 3D-printed biodegradable PLA and cast flower-infused resin. The work was inspired by the studio's ongoing quest to understand the relationship between nature and memory. Conceived as a time capsule, the sculpture was envisioned to degrade over time when placed in the natural environment, releasing information captured within the plants embedded in resin pods. We first presented it in our solo show at the 27th Design Biennale in Ljubljana, and have treated it as a prototype and a stepping stone towards a new body of work highlighting our relationship with the natural environment and the memory and protection of endangered species.
